On the hem the ruffles are set farther apart to balance the length of the skirt above and these too sweep up following the curve of the hem up the slit along the side o the leg

The dress closes with a side metal zipper

Length: 27" from waist seam to bottom hem

Really great examples of dresses from the forties are almost impossible to find anymore and often examples have just a minor detailing of sequin work

I also see the edge just under the arm has a tiny bit of shattering and there is spot near the hem that has an area of shattering
