I purchased this painting because I loved how every detail was represented in a tone of blue except the buildings and trees

painted in tones of hues only seen when bathed by the light of the sun setting

The pencil marks are just wonderful, expressional and confident but still with realism. Signed and dated S Hemmings, October 15th '55 (1855) Measures 35. 5cm x 25cm Good structural condition for age, just light marking and foxing to the paper.
