These hard to find palm trees are from seed originally sourced from a northern Tennessee property that has seen temps as low as 7 degress F! This palm is a slow arborescent (trunk forming), although first years trunk is mostly underground. This variety grows faster and larger than regular Sabal minor, but not as large as regular Sabal palmetto and seems to prefer quick draining rocky sandy soil.
