Wheels of Fortune Kimono Embroidered black silk liningInspired by my take on the Buddhist Wheel of life, this one of a kind kimono is made from a vintage light weight rinzu (similar to damask) silk kimono. The komon (al over) patterned kimono features katazome and yuzen (resist dyeing techniques). It would have been considered a casual kimono. I have taken inspiration from the yuzen pattern and embellished along the collar with lace and jersey flowers as well as thread work and beading. I have also added
