School Hall Type:Unframed Meander at Australia and JapanSunlight falls across the empty stage of Ogurawa Elementary and Middle School, the settlement's civic heart for three decades. Built in November 1952 after fire destroyed its predecessor, the two storey structure served the children of Chichibu Mine's workforce until enrolment fell from 274 students in 1959 to 7 by 1984. The school closed in March 1984. Part of the Nichitsu Mining Village series.
