This piece is stamped on the reverse with the word sterling. I believe the stamp was done after the ladle was made. Though this ladle is silver, it is either coin silver or sterling silver. There is a monogram on the front S. H. in Gothic script and a date on the reverse of 1902. This engraving was certainly done many years after this piece was made. This is
