The story of Undine is about a water nymph who falls in love with a human. He eventually leaves her for a human and by their laws she now has to kill him. This is the moment she rises up from the fountain cloaked in veil and water to take her beloved's life. I was so moved by the statue and the story, that I attempted to depict her in watercolor.
