While outclassed by more modern tanks, the M5A1 is still extremely useful for securing flanks, screening enemy infantry and armoured cars, using is speed to take advantage of any gaps in the enemy lines. Armed with a 37mm gun and two machine guns, the Stuart was a danger to enemy infantry. Its speed also allows it to out manoeuvre slower tanks and exploit their weaker side armour.
