I've found hundreds of them in the UP of Michigan specifically especially recently with high water levels eroding the tall clay banks adjacent to the shore where they formed

The length of the posts for this set is about 10 mm

Fordite is layers of automotive paint that builds up on racks that hold parts when they are painted

The posts measure about 10 mm long and are secured with butterfly style backs

I cut and shaped this pendant from rough surfite

These artistic style rings are made of multiple layers of brass and feature a mountain landscape with pines at their foot. Search your memory and I'm sure you find a good one with similar scenery. :) I coat the inside of the rings with silver before antiquing them (intentionally darkening the metal).
