But very few have been farmed continuously since 1640. Matthieu and Marie are the 11th generation to oversee Domaine Leon Boesch. The vineyards are protected from chilly, wet winds by the Petit Ballon and Grand Ballon mountains which form part of the Vosges range. This means the climate is almost Mediterranean with a long, sunny growing season. In this area almond
